Features 5juvpv

1) Combat
The combat of AoT is similar to a current game known as TERA. I advise that you read the info here and watch these short videos:
Melee Combat Video
Ranged Combat Video 1
True Action Combat Trailer

Brief info: AoT is not locked combat. Instead, it relies on aiming, careful positioning and a players skill. It's possible to dodge and evade skills depending on the skill sets given. AoT urges players to employ strategies and tactics to win a fight, raid, or even a war. Some skills can be locked on, though this is primarily for healers; a small amount of the skills for a healer rely on locking onto your target (lock-on healing). Area of Effects are, in a sense, more dangerous; you might be focusing an AoE skill on one monster, but since there are a few nearby, it'll affect them too. The combat system will remain the same after the update; in fact, it'll feel exactly the same as combat in real life.

2) The Interface
After the update, players will still be able to update the interface. It'll appear as a hologram, and only the player can view their interface. They can access the minimap, map, inventory, skills, zones, party information, guild information, general information. The player can choose which category they want to keep up, though it's advisable to turn off the interface when it comes to combat. Upon entering combat, the player will be able to see the health bar of their opponent and choose to view the health bar of their party members.

3) Crafting/Building
Both of these features will still be available. Just as in the game, if the player has the items they can combine them (and the appropriate work bench nearby) through the crafting menu. However, one thing to be noted is that the item will generally be weak. Food will be bland and have little taste. This is because, unlike when it was a game, a player must actually craft the item, instead of using the crafting menu. So, to make food, a player must cook. To create armour, a player must construct it. To build a weapon, a player must forge it. For a player to be able to craft better items, they must have a subclass in the specific field and have points sufficient enough to craft the item.

4) Player killing
Past level 30, players can enter a mode which enables them to kill players of their own faction. When they kill or attack someone of their own faction, their health bar will turn purple and remain purple a few minutes after the attack or kill. Player Killing can happen in most zones (apart from low levelled ones). Major Cities have a Guard system; guards teleport and kill anyone who fights in the cities. Certain zones can be under conflict or war. This happens when someone from the opposite faction is killed (e.g. in a Terani zone, if a Terani kills a Revaran who is questing, or vice versa, it'll lead to conflict). There are 5 progressive stages of conflict, representing how many kills have happened. After the last stage of conflict, the zone will enter into a state of war. Whether the zone be in conflict or war, player killing can happen. During a war, there will be a base for Terani and a base for Reveran. A raid will occur and whoever successfully captures the base will gain points and rewards. After the war is over, the zone will enter a state of peace for a certain amount of time (this depends on the amount of kills that happened). In a state of peace, player killing cannot happen, nor can either factions be hostile to one another. If a player dies, they will resurrect to the major city they are bound to. If an NPC/settler dies, they will not resurrect.

5) Housing & Transportation
Housing is another feature in AoT. Players can build houses in the surrounding areas of Cities. When AoT was a game, building a house required: wood, stone, iron ore, etc, and the blue print (which could be purchased with gold or real life money). These can be collected through out the world. The wood would be processed into lumber, the stone into stone bricks and iron ore into iron; the amount needed to construct a house depends on the blueprint. Bigger houses, of course, would require more time. As a game, players would use the working benches to convert their lumber/stone bricks/iron into packs and then transport it (at a slow speed or on donkeys) to where their house is located. Working benches are located in Cities and found near housing areas. A player can then construct their house. After the update, much like crafting in general, building a house will require manual labour and hard work. Blueprints will help for a layout, but the rest of the work relies on the player and their construction skills. However, help can be given.
Transportation wise, a player can have up to three mounts. The first will be a race mount. The other two can be purchased. Only one can be an aerial mount. The other form of transport are airships which travel to each of the major Cities and lastly, vehicles which transport between two zones. A player can also build a boat. It's similar to how they build a house: the blueprint is required (the cost of the blueprint depends on the boat you wish to build) and resources. The process is pretty much similar to the one of building a house, except after the update it's much harder to build.

6) Income
The main currency, of the game, is bronze, silver and gold. These can be gained by killing monsters or completing quests. However, a main form of gaining money is through trading. If you've read the previous information, you'll know that you can collect wood, ores, stones, etc, and convert them (wood to lumber, stone into stone bricks, ores into their metal form, etc). After this, one can convert them into a bundle of 100. These are known as packs. In the game, with a pack on your back, a player's movement speed would be cut down. A player could transport these packs and sell them in another city or zone. The farther they travel, the better profit they'll make. If the player put the pack down, someone else can pick them up. If the player is in a zone of conflict or war, they can be attacked and killed; their killer will be able to take the pack. Some players would transport packs to the other faction (especially when the zone in mind was in a state of peace) for better rewards.
Other ways to gain money is by being a merchant (using the auctioneer), participating in raids and dungeons, guild wars and more. Though, these aren't as efficient as trading. Earning money will be much harder after the update.
